Caffeine Nap

Study at the Loughborough University in Britain.

Stabucks

The Caffeine Nap is simple. You drink a cup of coffee and immediately take a 15 minute nap. Researchers found coffee helps clear your system of adenosine, a chemical which makes you sleepy. So in testing, the combination of a cup of coffee with an immediate nap chaser provided the most alertness for the longest period of time. The recommendation was to nap only 15 minutes, no more or less and you must sleep immediately after the coffee.

I copied this from the Empire of Z – but I wanted to say that this works really well. Tried this the other day before a studio session and I was ready to go after. Good stuff, highly recommend.

Also, I discovered a caffeine drink stronger than redbull (if that is possible). It is called redline – I recommend if you try this, you only drink half the can, the stuff is extremely strong (unless you’re a caffeine junkie like me, in which case drink it all, and be prepared to be super-efficient!).

  1. How long did it take you to fall asleep after you drank the coffee and how long did it take to drink the coffee?

  2. I was really tired after a whole night out, so it only took a minute – and I iced the coffee first so I could just tip it back. Worked, but only because I was super-tired (usually after just drinking the coffee im wide awake).
