Don’t Let the Flu Win This Season!

I won’t ever tire of saying that flu is a dangerous disease and so, you need to do everything possible to protect yourself and your family from it. Today, you can reduce the risks greatly by getting vaccinated before the flu season strikes. However, this alone might not be enough. Therefore, I suggest you strengthen your natural defenses with some natural remedies.

Those are not only effective protectors against the flu. But also tools for boosting your wellbeing in various ways.

The most effective natural tool for flu prevention is your diet. Eating a healthy well-balanced diet reduces risks by default. However, during the heights of the flu season, this might not be enough. This means you need to add more immunity-boosting foods into your meals. Those are:

  • Garlic

  • Broccoli

  • Citrus fruits

  • Bell peppers

  • Kiwi fruits

  • Fermented foods (that give you probiotics)

  • Ginger

  • Curcumin

I also remind you that eating fatty fish is a great decision for the majority of people because nearly every one of us could do with a boost of omega 3.

The diet strengthens you, but it’s just as important to reduce the stressors that can weaken your immune system and make your anti-flu meals less effective. This means that the other major component of your natural protection is relaxation. It’s imperative that you get enough sleep every day. This isn’t only a matter of your looks in the morning but the fact that sleep deprivation destroys your immunity.

It does so because the effects of sleep deprivation are comparable to those of extreme stress. So, do you know what else you need to do along with sleeping eight hours regularly?

Yes, you need to de-stress. That cup of tea with some candlelight and your softest blanket is, in actual fact, a remedy that can help protect your body from the flu. It will also help boost your mental health, thus improving your general resilience and ability not to give in to winter blues.

So, review your lifestyle right now. Did you let yourself go with the season? Get back to healthy eating and resting right away!
