Reaching out to Customers Is More Important Than Ever

If you run a business, you’re undoubtedly thinking about how to respond to the crisis as is. Even businesses that are entirely online are finding that many of their customers aren’t as willing to spend and, even if you suspend operations and cut things back as best as possible, you don’t know what kind of market you will be coming back to.

As such, it’s important for businesses to make a good impression now, and reach out.

Be Proactive With Updates

Your business needs a better approach to communication. It doesn’t matter how proactive you were before, you need to make sure that all of your customers and clients are made aware of any changes to how you’re operating, changes to the service that they might currently be paying for, and any planned updates as soon as possible. Get in touch with them directly and make that information easy to find, either through social media, your website or, best of all, both.

Reach out More Directly

A lot of businesses are sending out emails and, as a result, a lot of client and customer inboxes are getting incredibly full. If you want to ensure your message is heard above the rest, then you need to consider a more direct approach. Physical mail might be the solution you need and, with Minuteman Press printing alternatives, it’s becoming more cost-effective than ever. Not only do you have more chance of standing out from the crowd and getting read with a letter, but the physical object itself carries a sense of weight and importance that makes customers feel like you’re going the extra mile to keep them in the loop.

Make It Easier for Them to Get in Touch

Even if you are clear, transparent, and proactive, you are still going to have customers who aren’t in the loop and will have questions. A lot of businesses are downscaling and will not have as many people actively responding in the customer service side of things. However, using your social media as a customer support channel and adding a chat app to the website can help you ensure that you’re responding to customers and clients who might be concerned and want a more direct way to get in touch than through email.

Take a Hit If You Must

Simply put, a lot of businesses are looking at either pivoting completely in order to react to the changing market, or they are finding that they need to adapt by offering a reduced price or a very generous deal. It may mean cutting profit margins right down or even operating at a loss on some services and products. But showing solidarity with your clients and customers now can create a loyalty that’s hard to beat.

Communicating with your customers, helping address their needs where possible, and changing your methods of outreach to get the maximum impact can help you sustain your business through this troubled time. Consider the tips above and make sure you don’t lose touch with your customers.
