Who doesn’t want to enjoy a fantastic family vacation, raise your hands! Now, please move on to some different post on the website. But if you actually WANT to enjoy that great vacation, but your budget isn’t really big enough to afford the luxury, keep on reading!

We all know those standard money-saving tips, like “cut your household expenses” or “carpool to school”. I have a post on those tips myself. But those things are slow and often not enough. Also, in the modern world they aren’t as much “ways to save” as “common sense”.

To get that incredible family vacation you need some extra savings. Here are some creative ideas on how to beef up your travel fund:

#1: Go Vegetarian

Vegetarian diet offers many health benefits as well as allows you to save $750 a year on food bills, says a study. Even if going completely meat-free isn’t your thing, cutting out on this ingredient won’t damage your health, but will help save money.

#2: Make Your Previous Vacation Work for You

It’s not only cutting your costs that can help you, but also making more money and saving it to the vacation fund right away. You can do that quite easily and even use your previous vacation to help you. Post your best shots on various websites that sell photos. Start a blog or contribute to websites that pay for good content. Perhaps, you’ll actually develop a decent travel or personal blog while at it.

#3: Get Cashback

Check out all your cards as well as other card options available. Replace your current ones if necessary. The point is to make sure you get maximum cashback when using credit cards. Save that money right away.

#4: Drop Some Luxuries

There is no avoiding it, but if you want to enjoy a luxury vacation, you might have to sacrifice some luxuries now. That magazine subscription, gym membership, or your daily fancy latte will all have to go.
