Whether we’re going through a tough time, or being overwhelmed with the various working components life is throwing at us, it’s important to retain a sense of perspective. We have to step away from the situation now and again, because this gives us the chance to escape the eye of the storm, and it will help us to realize exactly what is happening to us. Because we are going at such a speed, we may not necessarily notice what all this negativity is doing to us. Some people are scared to take a break because they feel they will lose their momentum, or that edge that makes them productive. But it’s been shown time and time again that taking a break and stepping away from the situation does more than give you the opportunity to relax, it rejuvenates you. We can be so single-minded in how we do something, we worry about deviating from the norm. And when we’re going through a difficult time, we could latch on to these old habits, thinking they will see us through. But it’s all about trusting our minds and bodies to provide that rejuvenation. The human body and brain are wonderful things, and if we give it the opportunity, it will help to replenish our needs and give us exactly what we need.
