Imagine, you wake up on the day of your wedding, prom, photo shoot, or any other big event and your face is sporting a breakout of acne. I’m sure everyone has been in that situation at least once and I guess it’s safe to say that you loathe those zits with a passion.

However, acne is a very complex skin disorder caused by a combination of factors. Unfortunately, quite often the breakout might be your direct fault and the stress of the upcoming event is definitely a major factor that can trigger a breakout. This means that preventing the appearance of ugly pimples is nearly impossible and so is getting rid of them because acne requires lengthy treatment.

Does this mean that you’ll have no choice but to sport ugly zits on your face on the Big Day?

Well, you’ll only do this if you don’t deal with the issue the right way. In this case, “the right way” means that you:

  1. Mustn’t pop the zits!
Never, ever do this, no matter how tempting the thought.

  2. Apply a spot treatment with a high concentration of salicylic acid.

  3. Apply Aloe Vera gel or your other preferred oil-free moisturizer to your face.

  4. Apply green concealer over the inflamed reddish pimples.

  5. Use a specialized cover cream or a foundation for acne-prone skin.

  6. Set the makeup with invisible mineral powder.

This isn’t a perfect solution, but there is no magical way to get rid of acne in an hour. Therefore, you have no choice but to make the best of a bad situation. I implore you to stick to those products only. It’s very tempting to use more concealing products to cover the imperfections, but they will only make those more noticeable. A green-colored concealer to counteract the redness and a good foundation with a high cover rating will provide the best results.

Don’t forget to remove your makeup as soon as possible after the festivities and start a proper acne treatment program.
