5 Things to Do Before You Travel

Going away is a non-existent treat right now. With pandemics and lockdowns, quarantines and time spent stuck inside, vacations feel like a distant memory you wish you could recapture. Good travel is, however, the result of good planning, and you have all the time right now for planning.

Whether you plan to stay close by or you want to go international with your travel and head abroad, you need to plan and prepare. You will already have scoured the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club reviews before booking, and you would have researched your airlines and transport between the airport and your resort. You need to do as much planning for restaurants, activities and where to exchange foreign money as you do all of those other things. Below, we’ve got a few suggestions for things that you need to do before you travel and board that plane.

Check Your Passport and Any Documentation You May Need

Does your destination of choice require you to have a visa? You need to make sure that you apply for a holiday visa before you book anything. Otherise, you can bet that you’ll book a vacation you may not be able to go on when the time comes. If your passport is near its expiration date, you may also need to fill out a form for a new passport all over again. You won’t be able to fly if your passport is too close to the date of expiry and that’s the last thing that you need.

Check Your Medication

Have you had any vaccinations done? Do you have a record of your vaccinations that you’ve done for your vacation? You need to make sure that you check this off your list and if you’re heading to remote regions, check you don’t need to have specialist medication with you when you go.

Check the Travel News

COVID may be done by the time you go away, but that doesn’t mean that travel issues won’t occur. You should ensure that you have checked for travel alerts before you go. Weather alerts can be a problem, and you need to be aware of them so that you don’t get caught up trying to get somewhere you can’t go!

Get Your Travel Money

Are you headed abroad with a new currency to use? It’s important that you take the time to work out your money. If you land and you don’t have the right currency, there is no guarantee that you’ll be able to use the money you do have. Travel money should be sorted in advance so that you can feel prepared and ready to just enjoy yourself.

Notify Your Family

Wherever you happen to be going, tell someone! If something happens while you are away and exploring, you need to be able to contact someone to tell them that there is a problem. They also need to be able to get hold of you if there is an issue, and the only way that they can do that is if they have the right telephone number for you.
